Joint women's studies and LGBTQ conference — As part of the UW System's Inclusive Excellence initiative, the UW System Institute on Race and Ethnicity again is cooperating with the Women's Studies Consortium and the Inclusivity Initiative to co-sponsor the 34th Annual Wisconsin Women's Studies and Fifth Annual LGBTQ Conference April 16-17, 2010, at UW-Whitewater. The IRE is sponsoring a specific conference subtheme of "Intersection of Race, Ethnicity, Gender and Sexuality." More information, including a proposal submission form, is available online. The deadline for submitting proposals is Oct. 23.President's Summit on Excellence in Teaching and Learning — The IRE is collaborating with a number of programs within the UW System Office of Academic Affairs to present the UW System's "2010 President's Summit on Excellence in Teaching and Learning." The event will be held April 29-May 1, 2010, at the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor's Club. Information about the conference is available online.
