Veteran 'safe space' training for faculty, staff set for April 23

UW-Eau Claire is already recognized as a military-friendly institution. Please consider attending a veteran "safe space" training session April 23 from noon-12:50 p.m. in CETL (OL 1142), to show further support. This training session will:
  • Provide an overview of what it means to be an "ally" for veteran students.
  • Educate the campus community on issues, trends and concerns with veteran students.
  • Provide additional resources (websites, theories, contacts, etc.) that might be of use to an ally.
Each participant will receive a "veteran safe space" placard to display in their office and have their name added to our website.

There is no need to RSVP. For more information, contact Miranda Cross-Schindler, military education benefits coordinator, at crossmk@uwec.edu or 715-836-5212; or Bonnie Isaacson, nontraditional student adviser, at isaacsbj@uwec.edu or 715-836-3259.
