Through its 2011-13 biennial budget, the state of Wisconsin authorized and directed the UW System to develop two distinct new personnel systems: one for all UW-Madison employees and one for all other UW System employees. These new systems are to be implemented on July 1, 2013.
The following members of UW-Eau Claire's faculty and staff are serving in the following capacities for the University Personnel Structures (UPS) project:

- Kris Bremness, human resources: Employee Movement work group
- Jack Connell, facilities management: Employment Environment work group
- Sasha Showsh, biology: Compensation work group
- Fred Kolb, economics: Benefits work group
