Reception to honor retiring employees, those reaching career milestones

UW-Eau Claire's Service Recognition and Retirement Reception will be held May 12 from 3-5 p.m. in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center. Retiring employees and those approaching the anniversary of their 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th and 40th years of service will be honored. The event is open to all faculty and staff. Proposed changes in College of Business

Following are proposed changes in the College of Business. If you have questions or concerns, contact Dr. Bob Sutton at suttonr@uwec.edu or 836-4187, within 15 days of this notice, posted May 5, 2010.

Change the accounting minor to require ACCT 314 rather than providing the choice of ACCT 312 (Managerial Accounting) or ACCT 314 (Cost Accounting).

It was moved and seconded by the College of Business Curriculum Committee to approve the following ACCT 312/314 requirement change for BSAD, MGMT, and MKTG majors, including all emphases:

Dean of students finalists to hold open forums during campus visits

Finalists for the position of dean of students at UW-Eau Claire will interview on campus during the weeks of May 3 and May 10. Each finalist will hold an open forum during his or her campus visit. All UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the forums.
All forums will be held from 11 a.m.-noon in Davies Theatre, Davies Center. Open forum dates for the four finalists are as follows (each candidate's name is linked to his or her curriculum vitae):
  • May 3: Brian A. Carlisle, dean of students and associate vice president, San Francisco Art Institute.
  • May 6: Orinthia T. Montague, associate vice provost/dean of students at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. 
  • May 10: Jodi M. Thesing-Ritter, associate dean of students at UW-Eau Claire.
  • May 13: Eric M. Norman, associate dean of students and director of Student Advocacy & Accountability at Louisiana State University.
