Resources available for end-of-semester stress

A number of campus resources are available to assist UW-Eau Claire students throughout the year. However, during final exam week, students may find the following departments to be especially helpful:

pencil and examThe final exam schedule for the fall semester can be found online. Final grades must be submitted through MyBlugold by 4 p.m. Dec. 22. Tests should be brought to the Help Desk (Old Library 1106) for scoring during the following dates and times:

  • Dec. 14–17, 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Dec. 18, 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Dec. 19 and 20 (closed).
  • Dec. 21-23, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 24 and 25 (closed).

Obsolete Desire2Learn records to be purged

D2L logoOn Jan. 4, 2010, UW System Desire2Learn administrators will remove obsolete D2L course content and student contributions from its servers. In this deletion cycle, D2L courses offered during the following semesters will be removed completely and permanently: fall 2005, winterim 2006, spring 2006 and summer 2006.

Instructors are asked to review their D2L courses for the terms listed above for any course information they wish to retain. Information about saving D2L course content is available on the D2L Cleanup and D2L FAQ Web sites. Chancellor's PEEQ Action Plan presentation set for Dec. 14

UW-Eau Claire excellence medallionUW-Eau Claire faculty, staff and students are invited to a presentation on the PEEQ Action Plan by Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich Dec. 14 from 3-4 p.m. in Schofield Auditorium.

PEEQ — the Program to Evaluate and Enhance Quality — was a yearlong self-study process to help departments and units evaluate their mission centrality, quality, cost and opportunities for change. Based on recommendations developed by the PEEQ Evaluation Team and in consultation with vice chancellors, deans, directors and chairs, the chancellor has identified ways in which the university can more effectively meet its mission to serve students. He will share his action plan with the campus at the Dec. 14 meeting. The action plan and a video of the presentation will be available on the chancellor’s Web site following the meeting for those unable to attend.

Faculty and staff also will have an opportunity to discuss the action plan with the chancellor during a faculty and staff meeting scheduled for Jan. 26 from 3:30-5 p.m. in Schofield Auditorium.

Faculty, staff invited to Blugold Dining holiday party

Blugold Dining logoBlugold Dining invites UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff to a holiday party from 4-7 p.m. Dec. 17 in The Dulany of Davies Center. The menu, by Blugold Dining executive chef Timothy Grayson, will be accompanied by an array of specially selected wines. The cost is $5 per person. Those interested in attending the party should R.S.V.P. to the Blugold Dining office at 836-5261 by Dec. 15.

Dean of Students Office temporarily moves to Career Services

UW-Eau Claire's Dean of Students Office will be located in the Career Services Office, Schofield Hall Room 230, from Dec. 11 until Jan. 25. Dean of Students Office staff may still be reached at their regular phone numbers. The Dean of Students Office usual location, Schofield Hall Room 240, is being recarpeted and painted.
