As directed by Gov. Scott Walker, the flag of the United States and the flag of the state of Wisconsin will be flown at half-staff at all buildings, grounds and military installations of the state of Wisconsin beginning at sunrise and ending at sunset Oct. 1, 2011. This will be done as a mark of respect for U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Garrick L. Eppinger Jr. of the U.S. Army Reserve, who lost his life while serving his country during Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan.
