Foundation reminder about donors, financial commitments
As fiscal year 2011 winds to a close, the UW-Eau Claire Foundation wants to remind all departments/colleges/units about working with donors and obtaining financial commitments that would be considered pledges. If there are any such discussions, all documents, signed pledges, commitments or any type of information regarding gifts through the Foundation must be received by the UW-Eau Claire Foundation before June 30, 2011.
According to generally accepted accounting principles, under which the Foundation operates, all gift pledges agreed to and documented must be received and accepted by the Foundation, as the fiscal agent, before June 30, 2011. If the pledge was committed verbally or in writing, that information must be provided to the Foundation before June 30 so that the Foundation can acknowledge and record the pledge in the fiscal year it was made.
If you are not sure about any of these situations, please contact Jerry Ives (ivesj@uwec.edu or 715-836-2987) or Kimera Way (waykk@uwec.edu or 715-836-5180) as soon as possible. We want to help you maintain great donor relationships and meet our fiduciary responsibility.
