CSD series concludes with April 15 presentation

The UW-Eau Claire communication sciences and disorders department will host its final professional seminar for the 2010-11 academic year on April 15. The following presentation will be held from 1-3 p.m. in Room 226 of the Human Sciences and Services building:
  • Dr. Vicki Samelson of the UW-Eau Claire communication sciences and disorders department, has expertise in child language and language processing in mathematics. Arithmetic word problems are especially difficult for children with low oral language skill. The discussion will illustrate how children with low oral language skill solve word problems and how to design interventions to improve their problem solving skills and their comprehension of mathematical language.
