Flags flown at half-staff Oct. 7, 8 and 13

In accordance with Public Law 107-51, President Obama ordered the flag of the United States to be flown at half-staff on all federal office buildings Oct. 7 in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. Gov. Walker also directed that federal and state flags to be flown at
half-staff at all buildings, grounds and military installations of the state of Wisconsin in accordance with the president's order.

Flags at Wisconsin National Guard armories, air bases and other facilities across the state will fly at half-staff Oct. 8 as a mark of respect for Pfc. Arthur W. Hopfensperger of the United States Army who lost his life while serving his country during the Korean War. The Guard will render these honors in accordance with an executive order issued by Gov. Scott Walker.

Gov. Walker has issued an executive order to lower the flags at all buildings, grounds and military installations of the state of Wisconsin Oct. 13 as a mark of respect for the firefighters of the state of Wisconsin who have given their lives in the line of duty. More information.
