Counseling Services seeks interim director

Counseling Services at UW-Eau Claire seeks an interim director for a one-year term begining in September.

A master's degree and significant clinical counseling experience is required, and administrative or management experience is an asset. Summer parking regulations announced

parking meterParking and Transportation Services announces the following summer parking regulations, in effect from May 24-Aug. 27.

Permits required:
• Hibbard lot: "F" and "GF" permits required as posted.
• Phillips* and Nursing lots: "F," "S" and "GF" permits required as posted.
• Murray lot: "F" permits required.
• McPhee lot: "F" and "S" permits required as posted.
• All meters will be enforced Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-9.p.m.

* Portions of the Phillips lot may be closed due to a steam line project.

Free parking:
• Haas Fine Arts and Water Street lots.
• Putnam, Bridgman, Chancellors, Oakridge, Governors and Towers "F" and "R."

Associate vice chancellor finalists to interview on campus

Finalists for the position of associate vice chancellor for undergraduate studies at UW-Eau Claire will interview on campus during the weeks of May 17 and May 24. Each finalist will hold an open forum during his or her campus visit. All UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the forums.

All forums will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Davies Theatre, Davies Center. The dates of the four finalists' open forums are as follows. (Each candidate's name is linked to his or her curriculum vitae):

May 18: W. Raymond Smith, former associate vice provost, executive director of Instructional Support Services and University Division director, Indiana University.
May 20: Sonia S. Cowen, director, Daniels Leadership Center and the Yates Leadership Challenge Courses, and LTG Beckel Endowed Chair at the New Mexico Military Institute.
May 24: Jeanne M. Clerc, professor of health sciences and former associate provost for extended studies and distance learning/professor of educational leadership, Western Illinois University.
May 27: Susan C. Turell, interim associate vice chancellor and dean of undergraduate studies, UW-Eau Claire.

The 2010-11 undergraduate catalog now is available online as a searchable PDF. Printed catalogs will be available in June. If, after reviewing the PDF version of the catalog, you or your fellow staff members believe that the PDF version will meet your needs and a hard copy catalog is not needed this year, e-mail Barbara Arnold at arnoldb@uwec.edu before June 4. Those she hears from will not be included in the hard copy catalog distribution in the future.

College of Business dean candidates to interview on campus

Finalists for the position of dean of the College of Business at UW-Eau Claire will interview on campus during the next two weeks. Each finalist will hold an open forum during his or her campus visit. All UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the forums.

All forums will be held from noon-1 p.m. The dates and locations of the three finalists' open forums are as follows:

Faculty, staff invited to participate in 'Dismantling Racism' workshop

Dismantling Racism logoUW-Eau Claire faculty and staff are invited to a two-day workshop titled "Dismantling Racism: The Beginning" from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. May 26 and 27 in the Presidents Room of Davies Center. Dismantling Racism is a process of antiracist organizational assessment and change. Participants undergo a frank and honest evaluation of individual and organizational assumptions and views about race, power and privilege and then commit to an ongoing process of antiracist organizational change. The workshop will help establish the fourth cohort of participants who will become part of a universitywide, multiyear Dismantling Racism process begun in the College of Arts and Sciences in 2008. Many members of the first three cohorts report that they have found the experience to be profoundly rewarding and enlightening.

Change the accounting minor to require ACCT 314 rather than providing the choice of ACCT 312 (Managerial Accounting) or ACCT 314 (Cost Accounting).

It was moved and seconded by the College of Business Curriculum Committee to approve the following ACCT 312/314 requirement change for BSAD, MGMT, and MKTG majors, including all emphases:

Guaranteed faculty/staff parking information

GF parking signApplication information for 2010-11 Guaranteed Faculty/Staff (GF) parking permits has been distributed by e-mail to all UW-Eau Claire employees. Those who currently have GF permits must submit new applications.

A UW-Eau Claire parking map and GF permit application are available online. The application should be filled out, saved and sent as an e-mail attachment to GFparking@uwec.edu by May 7. Notification of approval or denial will be e-mailed to each applicant in July.

'Breakfast — or Lunch — with Honors' planned for fall

Honors Program logoFaculty and academic staff members are invited to present a topic and lead a discussion for the fall 2010 "Breakfast with Honors" or "Lunch with Honors" series.

Breakfasts are held from 7-7:50 a.m. Tuesdays or Wednesdays and include coffee, juices, milk, croissants, bagels, toast and pastries. Lunches, which feature house-made pizza, are held from noon-12:50 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. The audience typically is made up of 15-20 students from the Honors Program.

Those interested in presenting are asked to e-mail Dr. Jeff Vahlbush at vahlbujb@uwec.edu with a presentation title and time/day preferences by May 7.

The campus community is invited to an open house from noon-1:30 p.m. April 27 with Dr. Sue Rankin, UW-Eau Claire's climate survey consultant, who will discuss the results of the fall 2009 campus climate survey. Survey results soon will be available online.
