United of Omaha Life Insurance Co. is now offering two plans: CASH-First and Assured Solutions Gold policies to eligible state and UW System employees, annuitants and their family members. These voluntary purchase long-term care insurance policies are offered at a group-discounted premium. More information.

Reception to honor retiring employees, those reaching career milestones



UW-Eau Claire's Service Recognition and Retirement Reception will be held from 3-5 p.m. May 9 in the Ojibwe Ballroom of Davies Center. Retiring employees and those celebrating the anniversary of their "milestone" years of service will be honored. The event is open to all faculty and staff. Guaranteed faculty/staff parking information

Application information for
2013-14 guaranteed faculty/staff (G) parking permits has been distributed by email to all employees. The G permit application form can be accessed through the Parking and Transportation Services website. Employees who currently have G permits must submit new applications. Notification of approval or denial will be sent to each applicant's UW-Eau Claire email address. Questions about the G permit application process should be addressed to Gparking@uwec.edu. The priority application deadline is Friday, May 10.

Open forums for Children's Nature Academy director finalists set for May 13-15

Open forums for finalists for director of Center for Alcohol Studies and Education and Off-Campus Student Life

Finalists for the position of director of the Center for Alcohol Studies and Education and Off-Campus Student Life will be interviewed on campus from May 14-16.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the finalists' open forums, where they will address the following topic: "If you had to build an off-campus student program from scratch, what would be the key elements that you would need for the development of such a program?"

Veteran 'safe space' training for faculty, staff set for April 23

UW-Eau Claire is already recognized as a military-friendly institution. Please consider attending a veteran "safe space" training session April 23 from noon-12:50 p.m. in CETL (OL 1142), to show further support. This training session will:
  • Provide an overview of what it means to be an "ally" for veteran students.
  • Educate the campus community on issues, trends and concerns with veteran students.
  • Provide additional resources (websites, theories, contacts, etc.) that might be of use to an ally.
Each participant will receive a "veteran safe space" placard to display in their office and have their name added to our website.

Women’s and LGBTQ Resource Center coordinator candidate meetings, open forums

The Search and Screen Committee for the Women’s and LGBTQ Resource Center coordinator position invites students, faculty and staff to meet the candidates. The UW-Eau Claire Foundation will present $1,500 to the recipients of each of the four awards. Corey Hilber Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship in memory of UW-Eau Claire alumnus Corey Hilber has been established to sponsor tuition costs for children in Talas, a city in Kyrgyzstan where Corey was a Peace Corps volunteer. Corey died in December 2012. Learn more about Corey's legacy and the scholarship: http://ow.ly/jyhpU.
